SAPPHIRE: A natural trigonal mineral of corundum consisting of aluminum oxide with trace amounts of various elements such as chromium, iron, and titanium, it is widely known for its dark transparent blue hues. Excluding red, sapphires can come in all colors of the spectrum. With a Mohs hardness scale of 9, it is versatile not just for adorning jewelry, but in technology as well. 

 

TURQUOISE: A natural cryptocrystalline mineral that is a hydrous phosphate of copper and aluminum, it is widely known throughout the world for its blue opaque hues. Despite that, it can come in a variety of colors such as brown, orange, yellow, and green, as well as matrix webbings in black, brown, and grey. With a Mohs hardness scale of 5-6, it is a porous stone, hence, it is not uncommon to "back" it with an extra layer for durability.
