CULTIVATE

As a child, I struggled with keeping almost any plant alive. Looking back, I can't help, but give a chuckle for what I've done wrong. First, I'd impact so much soil into the pot, my plant's roots were practically cemented. To make matters worse, I'd then drown my plants in so much water that they probably would've loudly gargled, "Help! I'm drowning!" if they could. Sometimes, I'd line up my potted plants on a swing and push them to "generate" air for them. Oh, the innocence of a child. As you can imagine, my plants died VERY quickly.

Learning how to grow plants sounds easier said than done. Simply put, I thought all they needed were sunlight, soil, and water, but the real challenge was understanding how much is needed because not every plant is the same. Did you know there are different types of soil? I didn't and if you asked me then, I'd think soil, dirt, and mulch were the same thing. I also figured the hard way that not every plant likes being under the sun for long periods of time, especially during Summers in Southern California. I couldn't tell you which is worse, drowned plants that have sat in water too long or crispy, dried up plants that have been scorched by the sun. However, with every attempt, I strive to try again in hopes that eventually my efforts come into fruition.

This continuously ever growing collection is cultivated by my love of nature. Each and every design in this collection share tidbits of my own personal plant experience from what I have learned so far in life. At least with these plant inspired works of art, I won't have to worry about having a plant die on me, and you won't either.
